Truck Bed Liner Dealer FAQ

How much does it cost
to be an "Authorized Scorpion Applicator"?

Just $1,500.00. You can even buy our deluxe startup package for
$3,000.00
and receive extra chemical. There is also our “Dealer Package” that goes for $8,500 and is designed specifically for car dealerships. If none of these are appealing, we can design a package especially for you!

Why would I want to be a dealer for $3,000.00 when I could just pay $1,500.00?
Let’s start by saying "It doesn’t matter to us". But sometimes it just makes excellent economic sense to buy more for less. First, it conserves cash flow. Where can you get into a business with this kind of return for $3000.00? With the deluxe package you receive enough chemical for your first 8 trucks. Also, you may want to buy a compressor or some other piece of equipment. It’s simply an opportunity if you want to take it. Your accountant can probably help you decide if this makes good sense for you and your business.

Besides the training I get from you, what else will I need to install Scorpion
Bed Liners?

Will I get a protected area?
No, but don’t look for a "Scorpion Certified Bed Liner Applicator" on every corner either. Typical Scorpion bed liner applicators would be new truck dealers, body shops, or truck accessory stores. You’re in a competitive market place anyway. Contact Scorpion for our policy on bed liner dealer location. Most of our bed liner dealers tell us that as long as they are competitive in their market, they’ll take it from there. With the very low start up costs, low cost per truck and the extreme quality of a Scorpion Bedliner, being competitive is easy. We think you’ll either be a Scorpion bed liner dealer or you won’t be in the sprayed in bed liner business. Even if you’re currently spraying with another system.

How much money will I make as a Scorpion bed liner applicator?
Each of our bed liner applicators are independent entrepreneurs. Their success is based on their individual talents and aggressiveness. A good business plan is a huge help. We don’t look at Scorpion as a stand alone business but rather as an excellent add on profit center.  With all the free chemical you receive on the front end, you’ll literally be in the bed lining business for free.

Scorpion Coatings Dealer FAQ

How big of a facility will
I need to spray Scorpion
bed liners?

Most bed liner dealers operate very efficiently in 1500 to 3500 sq. ft.

Do I need a paint booth?
No, the Scorpion bed liner product is environmentally very safe - VOC levels are well below federal standards. There are no harsh chemicals such as Toluene or MEK used in Scorpion bed liner products. However, some localities have different regulations, check with local officials to be sure.

Do I need to wear a mask when spraying Scorpion?
Absolutely!!!! A ½ face chemical cartridge respirator will do nicely. Also, your spray area needs powered ventilation - an open window is not good enough. A filtered exhaust capable of changing the air 4 times per hour does a great job making your spray area safe.

How does the Scorpion Bed Liner System compare to bed liners from company’s whose systems cost up to $50,000? Is it as tough?
Scorpion is one of the highest performing materials available. It is extremely tough. Absolutely, but you be the judge. You have a sample. Cut on it - beat on it - whatever. It’s resistant to most chemicals and it’s extremely UV stable. Unlike a lot of bed liners, no yearly recoating is required. "Toughness" is a combination of several factors: hardness, tensile strength, flexibility, and bond. Scorpion has a hardness is measured at a "Shore A Hardness" of 88. This is comparable to any bed liner in the business. In terms of tensile strength and elasticity, Scorpion bed liners are better than most - if another bed liner says it’s better - we would love to compare actual test results. As far as bond is concerned, our bond is second to none. Again - you have the sample -
satisfy yourself.

But how can the Scorpion System be so good and yet be so easy and inexpensive?
It’s all about new technology versus old technology. Scorpion simply takes advantage of a lot of new technology - chemistry has changed a lot in the last 5 years and continues to change. We are really proud of our research and development efforts. We have a huge technology lead and we work hard every day to keep us out in front. If we stay out in front - you’ll stay out in front.

After I become a
Scorpion dealer, how do
I order product?

Simply call, email, fax, or use our website to send your order in. We accept VISA, Discover, and MasterCard. Orders received after noon EST will be shipped the next day. We ship by UPS or FedEx for small lots, or if you want to really save money, order in large enough lots for us to ship LTL.

You’ve told us all the positives - what are
the negatives?

You’re asking the wrong people. We don’t think there are any.
